ECYB Alums Reach the National Club Baseball Association World Series

Updated Thursday October 10, 2013 by El Cerrito Youth Baseball.

Five ECYB alumni, playing for the UC Berkeley Club baseball team, led their team to the NCBA World Series in Tampa Florida.

College club teams play at a level below NCAA teams. They play other college teams; Cal's league opponents include UC Davis, Stanford, Humboldt State and Nevada/Reno. The 2013 team finished first in their region and won their divisional tournament - defeating UCLA, and UC San Diego - thereby qualifying for the World Series. Alas, they went 2-and-out, but it was a great experience and lots of fun. Wait 'til next year!

Players from left to right in the photo (holding their Divisional trophy), and their ECYB teams: Ryan Clough (Giants, Royals, starting second base), Alexander Neuhaus (Bobcats, Angels, Astros, Giants, Red Sox, starting catcher), Jason Wypaki, starting center field, Nico Syren (Bobcats, starting left field),Sam Winter (Lions, Oaks, Mariners, Red Sox, starting right field).

Go Bears and Go ECYB! Play hard, and you can get there! It's great fun! ECYB legacy grows!
